Affiliates (= you), also known as partners or publishers, advertise on your Websites or in your newsletters for the offers and services of, for instance, Scout24, for which they receive a commission based on results.
Affiliate-Manager
A member of our Scout24 marketplaces' staff who helps you register and assists with the ongoing honing of your affiliate activities. You receive the contact details from the scheme description of the particular marketplace.
Affiliate Network
Affiliate networks like affilinet or Zanox are between you as the affiliate and Scout24 as the scheme operator. They record and evaluate your activities, such as the number of clicks generated via your Website onto our advertising material and the payment of your commission.
Clicks
A click is when the mouse is clicked on Scout24 advertising material through which the user accesses the offer of the respective marketplace, e.g. AutoScout24.
Click-Through-Rate (CTR)
The ratio in percentage between view and click of an individual advertising material: so if 100 views (generally one page view) results in 10 clicks, this equates to a CTR of 10%.
Cookie
Cookies are data that are for instance stored when one of your users accesses a Scout24 marketplace via our advertising material. For example, the cookie enables a registration with FriendScout24 that was only effected several days after the click on the advertising material to be still credited to you as an affiliate, thus resulting in the subsequent payment of the commission.
Deep link
As a rule advertising material does not link directly to the homepage of a Scout24 marketplace, but pinpointedly to a suitable sub-page, that matches the advertising material statement. This increases the conversion rate and your chances of earning.

This is the Scout24 partner scheme, also known as provider, sponsor or scheme operator, depending on the network

Here we remunerate you for one of your users' clicking on one of our advertising materials - Pay-per-Lead (PPL)
Here we remunerate you for generating a qualified customer contact such as a registration with FriendScout24, a new advertisement placed with AutoScout24 or a subscription to a newsletter. - Pay per Sale (PPS)
Here a sale brokered by you is remunerated, e.g. when travel is booked with TravelScout24.
Search Engines Marketing (SEM)
Generally this means when paid adverts are placed with search engines like Google (also known as sponsored links or keyword advertising). Please refer to the respective scheme description to see whether and under what terms and conditions our partner schemes allow SEM advertising. The term "Search Engines Marketing" is sometimes also used as a generic name for all search engine activities.
Search Engines Optimisation (SEO)
SEO designates the methods for optimising your Websites, to achieve as high a position as possible in the search engines' natural search results for specific search terms (keywords). Here a difference is made between "onsite/onpage" (internal criteria like texts and programming) optimisation and "offsite" optimisation (external factors like link popularity). It is precisely with "onsite" that you can achieve a lot with just a few basic measures.
View
What is meant by a view is accessing an advertising material. Since an advertising material is normally installed only once on one page, a view often equates to a page view (also known as page impression/PI).
Advertising material
Once your registration has been confirmed you will be given access in the Affiliate Network to our advertising material, already personalised for you. Beneath the advertising material you will find the corresponding (HTML) codes that you can quickly and easily install on your Website and/or in your newsletter. Besides the popular banners, depending on the scheme you will also find text links, search boxes, dynamic generators for individual links and advertising material, product data, and much, much more.
