Munich, 3 December 2009 – At the Austrian Event Awards ceremony held in Vienna on 2 December, Scout24 received the special prize for “Green Events”, awarded this year for the first time. The event that won the award was the managerial event “We are building a bridge” organised by Scout24 Holding GmbH in conjunction with the event agency kogag, Solingen, and the Austrian agency Alpin Convention in Kitzbühel, Tyrol, in September 2008. The concept focused on the sustainable, team-building measure of a joint bridge construction.
Ergin Iyilikci, Director Corporate Communications/PR of Scout24 Holding GmbH, Hans Schmitz, Director of Alpin Convention and kogag Director Markus Jäger accepted the special prize at the event marketing sector’s biggest meeting in Austria. It was the thirteenth time the Austrian Event Awards had been awarded. Every year in a total of ten categories prizes are awarded to the agencies and contracting companies that came up with an outstanding creative event marketing concept. The special prize for “Green Events” introduced this year honours an event that excels in terms of sustainability with environmentally-friendly measures throughout its organisation period.
“We are building a bridge” - the award-winning project
In September 2008, 60 managerial staff from the Scout24 Group built a bridge together near Kitzbühel in the Tyrol. The aim of this event was to strengthen team-building and bring the ambitious group of companies’ strategy and visions home to its managers. A dual aim was to create something sustainable and lasting. The bridge they built is still standing and enables all the region’s farmers and ramblers to cross over even when the water level rises with melting snow.
To prepare the construction of the bridge the managerial staff worked in workshops assisted by a technical moderator. The subsequent key-note to the crowdsourcing formed the theoretical basis for the “collective intelligence” that was then put into practice from the theory.About the Scout24 Group
